Issue #5 (3 December 2011)

I was fortunate enough to preview Art Basel Miami Beach- two days, one night- no voice. I arrived Wednesday, Novemeber 30th at 11am and headed straight for the Miami Beach Convention Center for a VIP preview of the main art fair, Art Basel Miami Beach.

Art Basel Miami Beach is one of the largest international art fairs, featuring over 260 art galleries and expecting over 65,000 visitors, including artists, collectors, curators, and the public. The city of Miami is transformed into an art mecca- a symphony of 23 art fairs (Pulse, NADA, Scope just to name a few), five major private collections (Rubell, de la Cruz, Cisneros, Margulies, World Class Boxing), museum openings (Bass, Miami Art Museum, MoCA Miami, Norton Museum of Art), dinners, and parties.

This week’s ArtCafé blog features virtually everything you need to know about Art Basel Miami 2011. Enjoy!
